1. A Burning Candle.

The Burning Candle
Christendom is a world Religion just like all the other world Religions and that is not the same as Christianity. It worries me that so many people in churches do not seem to understand the the difference.
I do not profess to know exactly how He does it, but Jesus says: “Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”
That is the power of two agreeing in His Name, how much more if one million Christian South Africans on this Internet and in churches and homes everywhere should agree together that from this moment onwards “I shall always do what is right, not because it is Law but because it is the right thing to do, and I will not follow the example of people who do not care saying to themselves ‘Well, everybody does it and, anyway, there is no Policeman around to catch me doing it so I won’t get caught”.
Wherever you are on this day, join me and give new meaning to Christmas this year as we celebrate the First Coming of the King of Kings and eagerly await His Second Coming in Power to take His Throne on Zion.
Now back to the Burning Candle. The Burning Candle says clearly that God is going to do something significant starting here in Cape Town, spreading through the rest of South Africa, up through Africa, into Europe and then east and west into the rest of the world. We do not know what it will be like but we will know when it starts to happen. Some think it will be a reawakening in the churches with people flocking in to worship, some think it will different, a new thing. From the vision of the ruminating cattle, I believe it will be individual believers everywhere in their own places getting a new feel for God, a new desire for the righteousness of God to flood their own souls. “Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled”. My prayer is that the hunger and thirst will start in a million hearts setting them alight for God. For the believer, it is a lonely walk but the prayers of all are linked together in heaven. They will be known by the righteous fruit of their lives.

Jessop the beloved ~ part of achieving this is surely like Mary to choose “the better part” & that is going into ones closet & abiding in the “Secret place” where one finds the Savior’s face. From that place of communion one is empowered to do “great exploits” & those of understanding shall instruct many. Daniel

Indeed, Brother Jacq, I have a picture of diamonds being formed in great heat in the depths of the earth and then brought to the surface in the great heat of flowing lava to be deposited in the waters of flowing streams where they are found to bless mankind with their great worth. Saints also are perfected in righteousness in the great heat of the Spirit of God. Jesus says: “I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled?” The fire is for us when we choose it for nothing is forced on anyone. ‘Come Holy Spirit, come, set our hearts on fire again.’

Hi Jessop, thankyou for bringing this book to our attention! I have been gathering excerpts from books, fragments, magazines for years referencing this enduring prophecy of the “fire at the southern tip of africa”, you now have lead me a whole warehouse full of evidence of this perennial word to the Church in Cape Town. Bless you for that and bless Dr Rose for his diligence in doing the research. Come Lord Jesus come! Truly, the Glorius Church in Cape Town will not know what hit it as the fire comes!

Thank you, Andre. The excerpts you have gathered must make inspiring reading. You can read on Brian’s testimony how Bro. Gshwend handed the baton of the Burning Candle over to him at the time of the Jesus People and the Hippie Revival in 69/70:

After a long time ‘out in the world’, Brian has been mightily stirred by the Spirit if God to say that the time is near that the vision will be fulfilled. We say all Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus.

    Hello Jessop,
I have been reading your interesting letters for some time. Today I have been particularly interested as I have been “burdened” for the Body of Christ and grieved by seeing the “condition” that some parts of our body are in. Not healthy!
I read a book about John G Lake s adventures in Africa several years ago and it started a little “fire” in me to see the “Holy Spirit’s Fire” again in our beloved country and in our precious peoples. I had left the book on the bookshelf for some years – but was yearning for the “Fire s of God” as John G Lake put it, again so I took it down and started reading it all over again. Wow it is very inspiring and if you have nt read it before I can highly recommend it to you. The specific incident or story that was very special to me was an incident where a boer who had been in government of Paul Kruger, had been praying for months on a hill outside Pretoria, has a vision and instruction from God in response to his prayers for the people of South Africa and especially the boer nation. …. I said to myself – what have we done with this “help” that our Father sent us l00 years ago?
Yes, I would love to hear more of this “candle” story.
    Thank you.

Thank you for coming in on this, Anna-Marie. I know a little about John G Lake and I am sure that if you could tell us some more of how the Lord blessed South Africa through his ministry it will be encouraging and inspiring to more and more of us as we look to the time that the vision of the Burning Candle will be fulfilled. Bless you.
