Jessop Sutton Psa 138:8 The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands. 139:1 O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me. 139:2 Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. 139:3 Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. 139:4 For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether. 139:5 Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me. 139:6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it. 139:7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? 139:8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. 139:9 If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; 139:10 Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. 139:11 If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. 139:12 Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee. 139:14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.11 January at 10:44 · Like ·

“For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”12 January at 18:43 · Like -
Jessop Sutton The Love of God is for you but it is for you to make what you will of it. When someone loves you and you love them back then the greater will change the lesser. That means God will change you if you will let Him and whatever change He makes in you will end up as a better, happier you.12 January at 18:48 · Like -
Jessop Sutton Now I do believe that is an excellent deal for anyone no matter how good he or she thinks he or she is — the more like God you become in your nature the better equipped you are to live in God’s world.12 January at 18:53 · Like -
Jessop Sutton But why, tell me, “the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” ? Why not ‘that is in Buddha or in Muhammed’? I have good reason which I will explain later.Sunday at 18:26 · Like -

Jessop Sutton So — those are some of the many ways in which people try to reach God, but why is Jesus the Christ of God the way for me? I will tell you — Jesus tells me that God, the Father of us all, loves me. All the other ways tell me that there are things I must do faithfully all my life and then one day I MAY BE accepted into heaven. That means God is an angry God who would be quite happy to see me in Hell. But Jesus doesn’t do that, he tells me that God loves me and then Jesus proves it to all of us. I will tell you.Yesterday at 09:13 · Like -
Jessop Sutton Jesus came into the world saying he came from the Father and that he did only what he saw the Father doing. What he did was only good for many people, like miracles of healing and casting out of demons. Many people liked him, many powerful people didn’t. We wanted him to prove what and who he was, so he said ‘You are going to kill me as the prophets have said, and I will come out of the grave again on the third day, as the Prophets have said’. ‘You are mad’ we said, so we killed him.22 hours ago · Like -
Jessop Sutton Jesus did exactly as he said, exactly as the Prophets had said — on the third day, some who loved him went to the tomb and found it empty. Then Jesus appeared in person to his close followers, and then to many more people in Jerusalem. Now none of the other great leaders and teachers did anything like that, so how can we doubt that he came from God?22 hours ago · Like -
Jessop Sutton His message to the world was, and is, that God, the Father, loves us and will forgive us — has forgiven us if we will accept it — freely because of Jesus, the Christ of God. How can a just God possibly do that? Surely we must do all those things that the other teachers and leaders tell us so that God will accept us? Jesus says, ‘Yes, of course, do them if you can because they are good things to do, but if you fail you do understand that there is no guarantee that you will get to heaven? You will set the scale for yourself and you will always know that you haven’t got there. Accept what I have done for you as the One from God who has died for you and you will know in your heart that you are forgiven. Then after that you can concentrate on doing all those good things you feel you must do’.22 hours ago · Like -
Jessop Sutton I have said that I greatly admire Siddhartha Gautama who became the Buddha, the Enlightened One. He found for himself a way out of the endless incarnations that his tradition taught, but he did not equal Jesus the Christ of God who loves us and died for us. I will tell you more about my respect for Siddhartha Gautama later.21 hours ago · Like -
Jessop Sutton Siddhartha Gautama was born into a noble family. His father wanted to shield him from evil in the world. But Siddhartha Gautama broke free and went in search of The Way of Heaven that would get him out of the endless cycle of incarnations that his culture taught. He nearly starved himself to death before he hit on the way. That Way is the profound respect for life which in essence is the Golden Rule which Jesus Christ later confirmed as the Way but Jesus added the essential difference — the power to attain to it.about an hour ago · Like -
Jessop Sutton You do understand do you not that if you set a goal for yourself, and sincerely want to follow it, every time you miss one of the ‘tests’ you condemn yourself? You might call it a psychological barrier but it does mean you can make no contact with God. The Buddha seems to have mastered that and attained to his Nirvana but if you want to get there you have to master all the tests for yourself — and that is the big problem which Jesus has solved for all of us. It is the same for one wanting to please God by minutely doing all that the Ten Commandments of Moses sets down (I will come back to those). Jesus overcame that for all of us by allowing himself to be killed by us for all of us. He made it possible for us to simply believe that God has accepted us in spite of our failures as humans.about an hour ago · Like -
Jessop Sutton It is written “The soul that sinneth it shall die” which means a state of being separated from God and since we all are in that state already we can’t help ourselves. But the news is that God has forgiven us already but we do not know it, or do not think it possible. Jesus, the Son of God, came to earth and died here for everyone so that we can accept it.9 minutes ago · Like -
Jessop Sutton Now here is the rub. You cannot know it before you believe it. If you will believe it, you will know immediately that it is true. Here is the truth “The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Now I must leave it to you because I also know that ordinary argument will not persuade you — sometging else must touch your heart.A few seconds ago · Like
